Hot Springs Earns Magnet with Distinction Honor

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has received the Magnet with Distinction honor from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), which recognizes our hospital as one of the top organizations in the country for nursing excellence. CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is one of only 35 hospitals nationwide to receive the Magnet with Distinction honor. The ANCC specifically recognized CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs for exceeding benchmarks in RN satisfaction, RN engagement, patient outcomes, patient education, and organization safety.

“This accomplishment is a testament to your commitment to nursing excellence,” said David Marshall, Chair of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. “The Commission on Magnet Recognition recognizes your organization’s dedication to the nurses who serve there, to the entire healthcare team, but most importantly to the patients you serve.”

The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program designates organizations worldwide where nursing leaders successfully align their nursing strategic goals to improve the organization’s patient outcomes. The Magnet Recognition Program provides a roadmap to nursing excellence, which benefits the whole of an organization. To nurses, Magnet Recognition means education and development through every career stage, which leads to greater autonomy at the bedside. To patients, it means the very best care, delivered by nurses who are supported to be the very best that they can be.

To be recognized as Magnet with Distinction, hospitals and healthcare organizations must exceed the scoring thresholds required to attain Magnet designation. Magnet with Distinction raises the bar to recognize top-tier organizations that have achieved the highest level of nursing excellence while addressing emerging challenges and changes in health care moving forward.

At the announcement, CHI St. Vincent Arkansas Market President Chad Aduddell praised the Hot Springs team, saying, “We are going to get asked questions at the regional and national level, ‘How’d you do it, what’s your secret sauce?’ And the truth is the secret sauce is all of you. I couldn’t be more proud of you all.”

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs first received Magnet designation in October 2020 and submitted for redesignation in October 2024. The Magnet with Distinction honor will remain in effect for four years.
