Hot Springs Submits Magnet Documentation for Re-designation
CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has officially submitted their documentation for a Magnet re-designation.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet® designation recognizes nursing excellence in healthcare organizations committed to the highest quality of nurse and patient care. The ANCC Magnet® designation is the “gold standard” of nursing excellence.
As of June 2022, 9.4% of US hospitals have achieved Magnet status. Only four hospitals in Arkansas have achieved Magnet status.
In October 2020, Hot Springs received their first Magnet designation. On October 1, 2024, Hot Springs celebrated as they submitted their Magnet document for re-designation!
Magnet designation means that a Magnet “culture” has been created within an organization. This encourages nurses to flourish as professionals, focusing on professional autonomy, decision making at the bedside, involves nursing in determining the nurse work environment, provides professional education and promotes leadership.
