Patient Calls Praising RN Lead to Service Hero Award
Congratulations to Stacey Morgan, RN, at the Infirmary on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Stacey’s nomination came after the Infirmary began a patient discharge follow-up phone call program, and the respondents couldn’t stop talking about her. Here are a few of the comments captured during those phone calls:
“The nurse who did my husband’s admission was phenomenal! All the nurses who cared for my husband were really good, but Stacey stood head and shoulders above the others. She was efficient, kind and compassionate, and I will never forget her.”
“Stacey was so fantastic. I felt very secure that she knew exactly how to take care of me. I loved her.”
In addition, a patient who had wet gangrene requiring IV antibiotics was giving off a strong odor. Most of the staff only entered the room when absolutely necessary and exited as quickly as possible. But Stacey spent extra time with this patient, providing him with comfort and reassurance that everything would work out. The patient told us that Stacey was an angel who helped him during the worst time of his life.
Stacey, your work clearly goes beyond normal nursing and truly cares for the heart and soul of the patient. Thank you for all you do!
Don’t forget, if you know of a coworker who does more than required for patients or teammates, you can nominate them for a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero award! Just click this link and fill out the form to tell us what makes them so special.
