CHI St. Vincent Makes Interim Leadership Changes
The following is an announcement from Dr. Gerry Jones, Market President of CHI St. Vincent.
It is my great pleasure to announce the appointment of Angie Longing, MHSM, BSN, RN, NE-BC, Chief Nursing Officer, as Interim President of St. Vincent Infirmary and Christi Whatley, MBA, Vice President of Ancillary Services, as Interim President of St. Vincent Morrilton. These roles take effect immediately. Both Angie and Christi will maintain their existing roles.
Angie and Christi have done outstanding work for the Arkansas market across their careers. These women are strong, smart and capable leaders, and I know that the Infirmary and Morrilton will continue to thrive under their watch.

Angie Longing has served in a dual role with CHI St. Vincent as both the Market Chief Nurse Executive and President of St. Vincent Morrilton since 2024. She began her career more than 30 years ago as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Morrilton. Through her leadership efforts, Angie has successfully moved patient experience for the Arkansas market into the green, led St. Vincent Morrilton through a financial turnaround and was instrumental in Conway Regional Health System achieving Magnet for Excellence in Nursing in 2021. Angie’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing is from the University of Central Arkansas. She completed her Masters in Health Services Management at Webster University. Angie also holds a Board Certificate as a Nurse Executive. In 2025, she was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award in Nursing by The DAISY Foundation.
Christi Whatley has served in various roles in the Arkansas market since 1996. Her leadership was instrumental in quality and operational improvements across our health system, including leading Hot Springs in their journey to become a LeapFrog A facility, reimagining safety protocols across the market to meet annual dashboard quality metrics for Commonspirit Health, and implementing a readmission reduction through risk stratification and continuum of care coordination. She is a results-oriented leader, known for her ability to inspire teams and implement transformative change. Her extensive background in finance as a former CPA, her expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and having served as a Master Black Belt, have equipped her with a unique ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and achieve outstanding results. Christi received her Bachelor of Business Administration/Accounting and Master of Business Administration at Henderson State University.

I have full confidence in Angie and Christi and thank them for their dedication to our team’s growth. It is my intent to transition these interim appointments to permanent roles as quickly as possible. Please join me in celebrating the great contributions of these two leaders and congratulating them on their new roles.
