Hot Springs Team Honored at Blood Center Grand Opening

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs was recently honored at the Arkansas Blood Institute (ABI) donor center grand opening for saving the lives of fellow Arkansans through blood donations.
Since 2003, the Hot Springs campus has sponsored blood drives with ABI, collecting on average 480 units each year. This corresponds with a potential of 1,400 lives saved annually. Bobby Abbott, Market Director of Laboratory Services, accepted the honor on behalf of the Hot Springs campus.
The life saving story of Hot Springs native Erin Green was shared at the ceremony. Erin experienced life threatening disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) after giving birth to her first child, Georgia, at the Hot Springs campus in October 2013. Read more about her story here.
“Erin’s story is a testimony to Arkansans who sacrificially take time to donate blood, to ABI for performing such important life saving, and to our amazing team of caregivers at CHI St. Vincent Hospital Hot Springs who live our mission of nurturing the healing ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.”-Bobby Abbott
