How to Call ‘Code Lavender’ at the Infirmary

Code Lavender is designed to support staff when challenging situations threaten unit stability, personal emotional equilibrium or professional functioning. In the event that you or your team staff encounters an event or series of events that causes emotional distress, you can call Code Lavender!

This rapid response call will have a team of chaplains nurses and other care partners to provide care to front line caregivers.

Any team member can call for a Code Lavender for themselves or another team member or members.

Care will be provided through:

  • A purposeful physical presence
  • Peer or team support
  • Debriefing and follow up
  • Complimentary therapies
  • Prayer
  • Tea and snacks
  • Pet therapy
  • Relaxation room
