John Campo and Alex Chambers Recognized as Infirmary Service Heroes

Congrats John Campo, Respiratory Therapist, and Alex Chambers, Respiratory Therapist, for being named Infirmary service heroes!

One weekend there was a fire in the ICU, among the chaos both John and Alex displayed heroic efforts.

The coworker who nominated the pair said that John kept a cool head as he tried to keep everyone calm. He calmly assisted the transfer of several patients in a highly stressful situation. He made certain that everyone was not only safe, but made certain that every patient’s respiratory status was maintained with portable oxygen.

On the other hand, Alex made a very difficult call. He turned off the zone valve and bled the oxygen lines for that area preventing further damage and injury. He and other therapists then worked to keep everyone breathing comfortably and safely.

The coworker simply said, “wow” in awe of their work.
