Labor and Delivery Closing Feb. 9 at the Infirmary

The Infirmary’s labor and delivery and NICU services will be ending on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019. This is a change of date from originally announced early March timeframe. The change is primarily because many of the coworkers are moving to new roles earlier than anticipated. We will continue to provide emergency deliveries to those who show up at our emergency department doors in active labor, but we will no longer be scheduling deliveries.

Going forward, the Infirmary will continue to provide other services for women through our comprehensive care network, including gynecology. Additionally, we are working through various partnerships to ensure covered labor and delivery services for all our staff who are or may become pregnant, as well as the appropriate level of newborn care their infants may require after birth.

Labor and delivery services will continue at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, and we will continue to grow that program in the southwest Arkansas community where there are few other options for care for pregnant women.

A huge thanks to our labor and delivery and NICU team members at the Infirmary for their incredible service to our patients!
