Marian with quiltFuneral services for Marian Williams, RN at CHI St. Vincent North,  will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church at 811 S.A. Jones St. , North Little Rock, AR. Viewing will be held from 10 until 11 a.m.

Marian died in a car accident Jan. 15, 2016, near New Orleans. She had recently celebrated her 25th Anniversary at CHI St. Vincent.

Polly Davenport, President CHI St. Vincent North, said  Marian was one of those people you didn’t forget after your first interaction. “She truly understood the call to help others – patients, families and coworkers – as to the entire mind, body and spirit. As leaders our role is to help coach others on our team. However, oftentimes it is our own team that provides the most impactful lessons to us. That’s how I remember Marian.”

One of Marian’s patients made a quilted wall hanging  for her. The two developed a relationship, while Marian cared for her, that lasted after the patient was discharged.  The wall hanging has symbols of the things the two talked about while the patient was in the hospital and in their time as friends after the patient recovered.  They were things that were important to Marian – God, faith, family and her patients.
