Michaela Meadows Named Service Hero at the Infirmary

Michaela Meadows, who works in patient access at the Infirmary, was recognized as a Service Hero for displaying the value of COMPASSION.
Michaela was nominated by a coworker for the kindness she showed to a patient who arrived just as Michaela was finishing her shift.
The physician had sent the patient to the hospital but forgot to call and notify the Transfer Center.
Once the admitting physician was located and the admission process began, they realized there were no clean beds available. EVS began cleaning a room, and Michaela stayed with the patient, even though it was past time for her to leave.
It took almost 45 minutes to get the patient to his room, but Micheala remained calm and never complained.
“She is always very courteous and easy to work with. Today, she not only displayed how courteous she is, but she showed how compassionate she is as well.”
