OR Team Nominates Coworker for Service Hero Award
Congratulations Amanda Richmond, RN, for being named an Infirmary Service Hero!
She was nominated by a coworkers in the OR for her Excellence.
They said Amanda came to the OR in August 2021 with no OR experience. They said when she got the job, it filled a huge need for the department. Below are some of the reasons why the department as a whole wanted to nominate Amanda for this award.
“Every shift that Amanda comes into, she is on the ball. She will do cases during the night so her on-call RN coworkers don’t have to come in and to make sure we have the adequate staff for the next day. That’s on top of the large load of her regular duties. She is ALWAYS setting her coworkers up for success. She pulls first cases, makes sure (if she couldn’t get to a task) I have a list of things that need to be taken care of each morning. I can’t think of a better employee to nominate to receive this Service Hero Award,” said Trey Glass, RN (OR Supervisor).
“Amanda is more than willing to pick up extra shifts when we are short staffed. She assists with after hour cases. She has done an extraordinary job in cleanliness of the center core and Operating Rooms. She goes the extra mile when calling in the call team by keeping track of the time the team was called in, in addition to making notes of any deviations from the call schedule,” said Courtney Held, RN (OR Supervisor) .
“Amanda has the greatest attitude when we arrive to relieve her on Monday morning. She is always positive and gives a great briefing on what has happened over the weekend. Amanda is amazing” said Lisa Brock, RN (OR Supervisor).
“The feedback we receive on Amanda is phenomenal. Not only did she fill a huge hole for the OR department, but took the role, ran with it and improved it – every shift.” said Robbie Snow, RN (Periop Director).
“Amanda always has a great, what can I do / “yes” attitude.”
