Patient Transporter Honored for Going the Extra Mile

Congratulations are in order for Tori Goodman, patient transporter at the Infirmary, on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Tori wasn’t nominated for just one instance. Instead, she was recognized for the extra steps she takes every time one of her patients needs to go to the Heart Station. Here’s her nomination:

“Tori is one of our fantastic transporters. She’s kind and compassionate to her patients when she brings them to and from the Heart Station. Heart Station does not have a lot of the things that the units have for patient comfort, such as a blanket warmer. So anytime the patient feels cold while waiting for their echo, Tori walks over to CCU to get a warm blanket so that they’re comfortable. That isn’t in her job description and shows true compassion for her patients when they are in her care.”

These are the stories we love to hear about our team! Thank you, Tori, for always going the extra mile to make sure our patients are taken care of.

If you know of a coworker who deserves recognition for helping patients or helping hospital staff, you can nominate them for a Service Hero award! Just click this link and fill out the form to tell us about them.
