Updates to Cafeteria Employee Discount Policy

Starting today, the CommonSpirit Health employee discount will no longer apply to certain pre-packaged items sold in the cafeteria. This change is part of a broad corporate shift to standardize policies and procedures for all hospital locations in the CommonSpirit Health system and reflects the industry standard for cafeteria discounts.

The following items will no longer be eligible for the employee discount:

  • Chips
  • Candy
  • Snacks
  • Bottled or canned beverages

Items produced by contracted vendors, like Chick-fil-A, Mojo, Crumbl Cookies, and Nothing Bundt Cakes, have never been eligible for the employee discount program and remain excluded.

The 10-percent employee discount still applies for any items made in house, including all cafeteria, grill, and action station food, as well as any grab-and-go items created by our food and nutrition staff.
