Brenda DuBose Named Service Hero at Infirmary

Brenda DuBose, RN in the Emergency Department, was recognized as a Service Hero at the Infirmary for displaying the value of EXCELLENCE.

Brenda was nominated for her actions on two separate occasions during the same day.

A patient in Outpatient Physical Therapy had a blood pressure reading of 60/34 at the end of his treatment. The patient was transported to the ED. Brenda immediately noticed the BP monitor reading, and within seconds of arriving, she took the patient back and began assessing his condition .

Later that same day, Dr. Steven Dunnagan from RAPA noticed a young lady walking around the ambulance bay in front of Outpatient Physical Therapy. She was confused and lethargic, and he brought her inside OPPT. The patient said she had been dropped off, but she was unable to provide any additional information and became unconscious. The patient was transferred to the ED, and once again Brenda immediately jumped in to help. She took the patient to the trauma room where the team immediately began working.

Brenda should be recognized for her quick thinking and her show of excellence in her role working in triage. I am extremely grateful for Brenda’s awareness to the situations at hand and her hastily responding to them both. We are very fortunate to have Brenda as a member of our ministry!
