Conway County Piecemakers Dedicate Veteran’s Monument at CHI St. Vincent Morrilton
Friday, September 16 the Conway County Piecemakers dedicated a Veteran’s Monument at CHI St. Vincent Morrilton to honor all those who have served. The monument will stand on the hospital’s front lawn on the Veteran’s Walk as a reminder to the community that “All Gave Some…Some Gave All.”
The Conway County Piecemakers is a group that was formed in late 2012 with the purpose of making quilts to comfort all the combat warriors and war veterans in Conway County. The group recognized that the effects of war stayed with a veteran long after their years of service had past and wanted to give a momenta to represent the appreciation and gratitude the community had for their sacrifices and service.
The members of the group work diligently throughout the year, making as many quilts as possible, to be able to present them on Veteran’s Day and Independence Day at the the Morrilton High School. As of spring 2016, the Conway County Piecemakers had awarded over 425 quilts to veterans of Conway County and will continue the mission to make sure every veteran is recognized.
