Dr. Ashley Jenkins Recognized as Hot Springs Service Hero

Dr. Ashley Jenkins, a hospitalist in Hot Springs, was recognized as a Service Hero for displaying the value of COMPASSION.

Dr. Jenkins was nominated by the family of a patient for the care she showed to them during their father’s final days, including giving them her personal cell phone number so they could reach out with any questions or concerns.

“She helped us understand our options and my dad’s prognosis. In this environment, where families can’t be face-to-face with doctors or with their loved ones, it’s important for doctors to go the extra mile, and I’m thankful she did so. Other doctors we dealt with did not do what she did. She’s a great communicator, professional and caring.“

The nomination praised the care they received in Hot Springs, even in the midst of the challenges that the pandemic has created.

“This current environment is tough, and I know it’s extremely hard on your staff. They are likely seeing the worst of the worst in modern history and have been for a while now. They are dealing with a lot of tragedies and families going through some of their toughest times.

“Your entire staff and specifically Dr. Jenkins treated my dad and our family as if this were a singular case and not one of many. What is likely common to her felt highly uncommon (in a good way) to our family.“
