Fanny Kizer is a Hot Springs Service Hero

Congratulations Fanny Kizer, Unit Coordinator, for being celebrated as a Service Hero!

Fanny works on 4 East/MedSurg in Hot Springs and was nominated for the award by a coworker.

There was a Spanish speaking patient who was discharged, but returned to the unit to ask for help concerning his appointment.  He did not know where to go and was anxious because he could not communicate well in English.

Fanny volunteered to help the patient find his way to the clinic and stayed with him to keep him company in light of the anxiousness he was experiencing.  He asked her several questions and she was instrumental in relaying his concerns and questions to the clinic receptionist, RN, and MD.  After his appointment was completed, he was very appreciative of this coworker and the time and effort she offered to him.

Another time, while walking in the hallway, Fanny encountered a Spanish-speaking pregnant woman who was trying to find her way to the maternal child unit.  She approached the woman to offer assistance and then walked with her to make sure this woman made it to where she needed to go.

“What a great member of our team, always willing to help in any capacity! She definitely exhibits our Core Values of compassion and excellence.”
