Hot Springs Celebrates 25 Years

hs-25-yearsSunday, December 18 marks 25 years since CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs moved into its Werner Street location. That day, more than 100 people had police escorts for their rides down Central Avenue. The 108 patients of St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center were loaded into ambulances, vans and Army National Guard trucks to move to the new hospital.

The new hospital was a $75 million, 317 bed facility. With more than 400,00 square feet of space, the hospital could grow to meet the needs of the community including bringing back a maternity ward after 30 years of not having one. The move was a huge success thanks to the help of the Army National Guard and local escorts and ended hours before it was expected to.

The Sentinel-Record covered the story and remembered the move. Click here to read the article!

Join us for a 25 Year Celebration at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs on Monday, December 19. It will be a time for us to reflect and fellowship! Click here for the full event flyer.
