Hot Springs RN Honored for Healing with Humor

We’re proud to announce that Brenda Kassum, RN, at Hot Springs has been named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Brenda was recognized after a patient wrote a nomination praising her for using her sense of humor to help relieve tension and make her feel welcome at the hospital. Here’s what the patient had to say:

“I was struggling with a migraine for six days. This nurse not only listened to me about symptoms but she was funny and kept everything lighthearted. When I did something that I thought was embarrassing but then laughed at myself to keep from crying, she laughed with me! She reassured me everything was ok! It helped me feel so comfortable! She’s one of the keepers! I felt safe but seen and heard too! She definitely picked the right field!”
