Infirmary Clothing Closet Now Open to Serve Patients
Thanks to the Mission department and the support of Dr. Jones, the Auxiliary, Stewpot, LDI and Our House, the Infirmary officially has a clothing closet!
The closet serves patients in need of clothing upon discharge. Our hope is that the closet makes serving our patients in need a little easier for staff too.
“I heard over and over how badly it was needed from patients and staff. I wasn’t going to stop until it opened. Our patients and staff deserve nothing less,” said Mandy Davis, Community Outreach Coordinator.
We have a policy that patients don’t leave our facility without clothing. Previously, clothing wasn’t readily available or it was scattered throughout the hospital and hard to find. Other times staff was purchasing clothing and shoes with their own money.
“I plan to implement clothing closets market-wide using this model. In the closet, you’ll find resource guides, socks and underwear donated by those who attended our last LDI event, Bombas socks from Stewpot, hard to find sizes in sweat suits from the auxiliary, and more,” said Davis.
The closet is available Monday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. as referrals for patients only. Coworkers can call the operator at (501) 552-3000 and ask for Case Management. After hours, you can call Security at (501) 552-2336.
