Infirmary Security Guard Named Service Hero
Congratulations to Daniel Dean, security guard at the Infirmary, on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Daniel won the award for an interaction with a missing woman who found her way to our hospital entrance one cold night. Here’s the story submitted with the nomination:
“On Monday evening, Daniel was patrolling the outside grounds when he received a call about an elderly lady that was outside of the outpatient entrance. She was very upset, confused and didn’t know where she was or how she got here. Officer Dean calmed her down sat her down and bought her a Diet Coke, then called LRPD to help find out who she was. While waiting for the police, he got her dead phone from her, charged it up, and looked for a contact that he could call. He found her daughter-in-law, who was very relieved she was found. It turns out the woman was from Tulsa, and there was a silver alert out for her. The daughter-in-law was able to come to Little Rock and pick her up, saying she was deeply grateful to Officer Dean for making sure she got home.”
Daniel, your service and your compassion are truly outstanding. For reuniting a family and bringing peace through your actions, we thank you.
