Infirmary Welcomes New Pharmacist Residents

The Infirmary’s pharmacy team recently welcomed its newest pharmacist residents, Darby Ballestero and Jayme Holland.

Darby earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Jayme received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy.

Darby and Jayme matched to the CHI St. Vincent PGY1 (Post Graduate, Year One) Pharmacy Residency Program in March and began their residencies in July.

The pharmacy residency program is accredited by the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP).  Recruitment for this  intensely clinical, one year program targets newly licensed pharmacists with the desire to become a well-rounded pharmacy practitioner and future leader in pharmacy practice.  Pharmacists completing the program will be clinically prepared for an advanced level of practice at a community-based hospital, eligible for board certification, and eligible for specialty training through a PGY2 pharmacy residency.
