Join the Sweet Talk Challenge and Enhance Your Well-being

Having positive thoughts about yourself can increase your self-esteem and enhance your overall sense of well-being.

The Sweet Talk Challenge is a 21-day virtual wellness event focused on positive self-talk, clearing your mind and lifting yourself up.

Each daily “Yes” click during the 21 days is counted toward the challenge results. “No” clicks do not count. The challenge runs from Monday, March 14 through Sunday, April 3.

Benefits of positive self-talk include:

  • Increasing your emotional resilience and ability to manage stress.
  • Helping you form healthy relationships and helping you distance from unhealthy ones.
  • Boosting your happiness, confidence and the drive to let your voice be heard.

Positive self-talk takes patience and practice; once you get the hang of it, you may find that it quickly lifts you up in challenging times.

Follow the tips below to pep yourself up.

Clear your mind
Prepare yourself for positive self-talk by allowing negativity to drift away. Try simple meditation and breathing exercises if you need a little extra help to clear your mind.

Assess negative thoughts
Challenge negative thoughts by replacing them with positive ones. Notice when you have thoughts like assuming the worst or rejecting your successes and think the opposite, noting your personal strengths and the resilience that you may gain from difficult situations.

Avoid mind reading
Stop yourself if you begin to assume that others are thinking poorly of you. If you catch yourself trying to read someone else’s mind, imagine the positive things they may think about you.

Be your #1 fan
We all make mistakes: Acknowledge, learn and forgive yourself for yours. Let your strengths—not your mistakes—define who you are.
