Kanisha Sanders Presented with Infirmary DAISY Award
Congratulations to Kanisha Sanders, RN at
CHI St. Vincent Infimary, for being recognized with the
Infirmary DAISY Award in May.
Kanisha was nominated by a patient’s family member.
The family member said she and her brother went to visit their mother in the ICU, and they were blown away by Kanisha’s kindness and love towards their mother.
She said Kanisha informed them on their mother’s status not just from a medical standpoint, but also from a personal point of view. She also said Kanisha treated her mom with loving care.
As the family member got emotional talking about her mom, she said Kanisha consoled her like a friend.
“She was the kindest nurse I have ever seen.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
