Katy Carriger Recognized with Hot Springs Daisy Award

Katy Carriger was recognized with a Hot Springs DAISY Award for going “above and beyond” with the care she provides to her patients every day.

“She is thoughtful in her practice and her patients recognize her often for giving exceptional care. This nurse is mindful of her practice and keeping patients safe.”

Katy recently recognized a patient was being prescribed medicine that might not be right for their history. She escalated her concern to the physician, who changed the order.

“This is just one specific example of how this nurse exhibits the nature of a DAISY recipient every day.”

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
