Kaylynn Heard’s “Compassion Shows Clearly” as Nurse
Congratulations Kaylynn Heard, RN, for being named a DAISY Award winner!
Kaylynn works in the Neurology ICU at St. Vincent North. She was nominated for the award by a patient’s family member.
The visitor said Kaylynn was the first nurse they met when they walked into the hospital room. They said she immediately pulled a big reclining chair and showed the visitor how to make it into a bed.
“Petite, but strong and full of energy! I was very amazed! It was so fun and such a joy to watch her work,” said the visitor about Kaylynn.
Besides admiring her nursing skills, the visitor said Kaylynn was often a listening ear.
“She is also my counselor. After caring for my husband she would always ask if I needed anything, so sometimes even at 1:00 a.m. or 3:00 a.m. I asked a lot of questions… Her answers are calm, comforting and that helped my emotional feelings. I can tell she cares for my husband and for me too. Her compassion shows clearly. This nurse deserves to be recognized.”
