New Analyzers Save Money, Cut Downtime & Have Faster Turn-Around Time
On December 15, all four CHI St. Vincent hospitals will be converted to the same vendor for chemistry instrumentation. Old equipment is being replaced with new analyzers, which will allow substantive cost savings.
The new analyzers require significantly less downtime for maintenance and have faster turn-around-times, resulting in improved patient care. We are able to share reagents, which are substances and mixtures used in chemical analysis. There is also the potential to share staff members, across the system, giving us depth and security for the department. The instruments have excess capacity for additional test volumes as we strive for continued growth.
At CHI St Vincent Infirmary, a line track will be implemented following the go lives. This automation track will allow the placement of three separate instruments on one service line, providing additional efficiencies for staffing.
