Roger Alexander-McKinzie Receives North DAISY Award

Roger Alexander-McKinzie, a nurse on 3 North, received the DAISY Award at North.
He was nominated by his coworker for going above and beyond–not only in the care of his patients but also helping his team with their shift.
Roger spent a lot of time with his coworker’s very worried patient and was able to relieve their anxiety simply by being with them and talking with them.
We are grateful for Roger’s compassion.
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere
