Sarah Overbey Recognized with Hot Springs DAISY Award

Sarah Overbey, RN, was recognized with a Hot Springs DAISY Award for the compassion she showed to a family after their father passed away.

In her nomination, the patient’s child praised Sarah, noting that she helped them locate a funeral home for their father because they were unfamiliar with Hot Springs.

Sarah “went above and beyond with helping me and my brother through this time, and I want (her) to know how much I appreciated all of her help.”

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
