Try Romaine Lettuce Tacos for a Twist on a Family Favorite

Romaine is mild and nearly flavorless–perfect for those pickier eaters–but it’s packed full of important vitamins that parents love.
One great way to incorporate romaine is to substitute it for tortillas or wraps, like in this delicious recipe for Romaine Lettuce Tacos.

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 4 oz. can green chilies, diced
- 1 tbsp. low sodium taco seasoning
- Romaine lettuce
- Cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
- Hot sauce (optional)
Directions: In large skillet, heat olive oil on medium high. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Drain off any remaining fat. Stir in salsa, green chilies and taco seasoning until heated through. Using a romaine lettuce leaf as your taco shell, spoon turkey mixture into the center of the lettuce leaf and top with your favorite taco toppings; cheese, sour cream and/or hot sauce. Pick it up and enjoy!
