Coworker Crowned in State Pageant
And new Ms. Senior Arkansas America 2018 is…Dixie Ford! That’s right, our very own Dixie Ford, Hot Springs coworker and Hot Springs Senior Center member, Dixie Ford, was crowned “Ms. Senior Arkansas America 2018” on Saturday, June 23rd at the Alma Performing Arts Center in Alma, AR. She was one of eleven contestants vying for the title at the 31st annual state pageant. Contestants were scored in interview, talent, “Philosophy of Life” and evening gown.
“The Ms. Senior America Pageant is the world’s first and foremost pageant to emphasize and give honor to women who have reached the “Age of Elegance.” It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all Senior Americans. It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society. Senior America, Inc. is a Non-Profit corporation designed not only to enrich the lives of seniors but also to tap their energy to enrich the lives of others.”
Dixie embodies the “spirit” of the Ms. Senior America Organization in her daily life. She is a registered nurse under the Utilization Management program at Hot Springs where her husband, Dwight, is also employed. Dixie is also a member of the Hot Springs Senior Center where she tap dances and performs with the “Spa City Tappers”. Her talent performance was a tap routine to a Frank Sinatra favorite, “Fly Me to the Moon”, choreographed by Tap Instructor, Pattie Genovese.
Dixie is one of 45 contestants who will travel to Atlantic City, NJ in October to represent Arkansas for the highly esteemed title of “Ms. Senior America 2018”.
