Crystal Sibley Recognized with Hot Springs DAISY Award
Crystal Sibley, RN, who works in Labor & Delivery in Hot Springs, was recognized with a DAISY Award for the care she showed to a recent patient.
The patient who nominated Crystal praised her ability to advocate for her patients.
“Crystal was my nurse many nights. She not only listened to my concerns but helped me talk to the doctors to clarify them so the doctors would understand. She would fight for me – I knew every night when I saw her I was going to be okay for the next 12 hours.”
The patient also noted Crystal’s attention to the detail and calm manner, saying she was comfort throughout her stay in the hospital.
“She was always prompt with meds and never lost her temper with me, even when I was not in my right mind. Her patience was one of a saint. She was always right there; I never had to wait long on her when I called her. She made me laugh like a friend, she comforted me like a mother, and cared for me like a pro.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
