Daysha Williams Wins Honey Bee Award Two Months in a Row
North’s August and September Honeybee Award winner is Daysha Williams, PCT, 3S Stepdown!
Her August nomination from a patient:
“We have spent 9 days inpatient after a devastating diagnosis for my husband and a major surgery. From the first day we met this PCT, she brought comfort and healing to our broken hearts and souls. We looked forward to the nights that she was here. Not only did she make sure that we had everything we needed, but her hugs when the tears came, her gentle touch and willingness to take a moment and check on not only the patient but also the caregiver in a genuine and heartfelt way makes her outstanding. No one misses a hospital or even their experience there, but we will miss her! We are better in our hearts and souls just by being around her. She has been our blessing. Please pick her for the Honey Bee Award! She is a winner to us!“
Her September nomination from a co-worker:
“This PCT is a patient care technician that consistently exceeds expectations. She is a great patient advocate, awesome team player, always goes above and beyond and is very compassionate when it comes down to taking care of her patients on the unit. If any patient on her unit ever needs any encouragement or uplifting moments, she will be there every step of the way, until the patient is discharged. There was a patient on the unit that was combative at times, bad mouthed you, and other things due to a previous brain tumor. She took it upon herself to get to know him and once she did they clicked and had a great bond. Every shift she worked, she went and checked to see how he’s doing and if he needed anything. This is why I believe she exceeds the criteria and deserves to get this Honey Bee Award.“
