Infirmary RN Wins DAISY Award for Interpreting Service

Sometimes our nurses go so far beyond their job description to help a patient that we have to recognize them. That’s the case for Hayley Mathues, RN, who has been honored with a DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care!

Hayley is a care coordination supervisor who had a patient this January who needed round-the-clock tactile interpreting service. However, Central Arkansas was hit with an inclement weather event while the patient was with us, preventing interpreters from reaching the hospital in a timely manner. Hayley took it on herself to stay with the patient and their family during these gaps, making sure that the patient always had support and was able to communicate if needed. The patient and their family were very grateful for Hayley’s attentiveness and help.

Thank you, Hayley, and congratulations! Don’t forget, if you know of a nurse who has gone above and beyond, you can nominate them for a DAISY Award! Just click this link and fill out the form.
