Mike Childress Named Hot Springs Service Hero

Mike Childress was named Hot Springs service hero for displaying the value of COMPASSION.

Most of our coworkers do an excellent job in caring for our patients, but sometimes the care they need falls outside the walls of the hospital, and moreover can be unrelated to their immediate health-related care. In the nomination submitted by a coworker, it was apparent how profound an impact Mike had on this family.

“The patient and their spouse had been coming to the clinic for a long time. While the patient was normally fairly reserved, the spouse was often very animated and boisterous. The spouse, one day, uncharacteristically sighed, saying, “We just love coming here, everyone is so nice, it’s just like family.” She continued, “But, I have to tell you about one that is an angel.” She started to tear up saying, “Mike offers to take us to the grocery store on Friday’s after he gets off work. He knows we can’t fit both our walkers in the car and still have room for food. You don’t know how much he means to us.”

Mike is always going above and beyond for his patients. He is a true service hero! #CHILivingOurMission
