North Teams Up With Linen King, Police Departments to Serve Community During Winter Weather
During the extreme cold and snow, CHI St. Vincent North has worked to keep it’s community members warm and fed.
Linen King donated 500 of their blankets to CHI St. Vincent North. Coworkers delivered the blankets to MEMS in North Little Rock and to the North Little Rock Police Department substations to distribute to those in need during the cold weather and snow.
North’s cafeteria also provided lunch to the North Little Rock warming shelter located at the Community Center at on Willow Street. Monday and Tuesday to assist in serving those in need.
“We want to thank Officer Shay Cobbs, NLR Homeless Liaison, and the entire NLRPD, Sherwood PD, City of NLR leadership and staff, especially those working overtime to manage the overnight shelter during the cold, John Woodward with MEMS, the North VIA team, and North leadership,” said Mandy Davis, Community Outreach Director.
Davis explained that it’s important that we not only leverage our community partners when we are in need, but that we are mindful and proactive in our support for them when they’re in need too.
She said Officer Cobbs was blown away by the generosity or Linen King and our ministry’s ability to make that gift possible.
“You just don’t know what this means, two lunches covered on what’s predicted to be the worst days is huge,” Officer Hobbs said to Davis.
MEMS also will be providing a professional first aid kit and additional supplies to the Little Rock Emergency Shelter.
