Randi Payne Recognized with Hot Springs DAISY Award

Randi Payne, RN, who works on 4E Med Surg in Hot Springs, was recognized with a DAISY Award for the care she provided to a recent patient.

The patient who nominated Randi called her an “outstanding nurse” on a team of wonderful nurses.

She noted that Randi “puts that extra care of a dedicated, loving” nurse who cares for a patient’s physical needs as well as their mental and emotional needs.

“Any patient of hers not only feels and knows they are receiving the best medical care, but they feel like they are being cared for by a friend or family member. She makes sure they don’t feel like a job to her. Randi was what put a smile on my face, even with the level 8 pain I was experiencing!”

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
