Charlene McConnell Receives July 2017 Daisy Award

After learning of an EVS worker’s dream of becoming a patient care tech, Charlene McConnell, RN, rallied together the Intensive Care Unit to help raise enough money for them to go to school. They raised enough money to pay for CNA school along with the costs of books and certification. That’s why Charlene was chosen as a DAISY Award winner for July 2017!

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
