Darlene Anderson Recognized as Infirmary Service Hero

Darlene Anderson, who works in Food Services at the Infirmary, was recognized as a Service Hero for the displaying the value of COMPASSION.
Darlene was nominated by a patient who was scheduled for a procedure and was directed not to have any food or drink. Because of an issue with the procedure, the NPO order was extended a second day.
The patient waited a couple hours for a food tray after the restriction was lifted before her husband went to the cafeteria to find something to eat.
“When Darlene heard about it, she came up and apologized, giving my husband a couple of free meal tickets. She went out of her way to be sure all was okay with us.”
