New Pharmacy Residents Join Infirmary

The pharmacy department at the Infirmary has welcomed two new pharmacist residents, Jenny Belz, PharmD, and Barrett Carter, PharmD.

Jenny received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Barrett received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Sam Houston University prior to attending Harding University College of Pharmacy, where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Jenny & Barrett matched to the CHI St. Vincent PGY1 (Post Graduate, Year One) Pharmacy Residency Program in March and began their residency here on July 1.

Recruitment for this clinical-focused, one-year program targets newly licensed pharmacists with the desire to become a well-rounded pharmacy practitioner and future leader in pharmacy practice.

Pharmacists completing the program will be prepared for an advanced level of practice at a community-based hospital, eligible for board certification and for specialty training through a PGY2 pharmacy residency.
