NIC Acquires Mirror to Assist with Patient Mobility

Neurosurgical Intensive Care has acquired a rolling full-length mirror to assist patients in their mobility.

The mirror is useful for patients who have suffered a brain injury and may have lost a sense of balance, proprioception or sensation.  A patient can use the mirror when sitting, walking or in bed.

Cindy Fretwell with Physical Therapy said patients must see themselves to understand whether they are upright with head and trunk in alignment.
