North Accepts Prestigious Stroke Award

Earlier this year, CHI St. Vincent North was awarded the prestigious Stroke Care Performance Diamond Award by the Arkansas Department of Health. The award is for excellence in stroke patient care in the category of stroke band documentation for medium-sized hospitals.

In May, they were officially honored at a ceremony hosted by the health department.

A hospital must have a capture rate of 95% or better to qualify for the diamond level award. Stroke bands are a tracking system to measure and optimize quality of care for stroke patients from the field to discharge. They’re wristbands placed on potential and confirmed stroke patients, which include a unique number that is logged within the Arkansas Stroke Registry.

Maggie Moore, RN SCRN, Stroke Program Coordinator, accepted the award on the hospital’s behalf and is pictured with David Vrudney, Stroke and STEMI Section Chief for ADH.
