Phillip Nahas Named Hot Springs Service Hero

Congratulations Phillip Nahas, RN, Emergency Department, for being recognized as a Hot Springs Service Hero.

Phillip was nominated by a coworker for showing compassion to a patient during the recent winter storm.

When temperatures dropped into the single digits, a homeless patient came into the emergency department seeking mental help. The patient lost his father one year ago and was having a difficult time with the loss.

After staff helped the man with setting up a shelter to go to and receive outpatient services, they noticed all he had on was a torn short-sleeved t-shirt and pants.

The ED has donated clothes for patients to wear home after they’re discharged, but there was not a jacket in this patient’s size.

Phillip gave the coworker his personal jacket to give to the patient.

“Phillip showed so much compassion and empathy towards this patient and demonstrated our facility’s core values,” said the coworker.

Phillip is described as always being a team player and a constant source of helpful knowledge.

“Thank you, Phillip Nahas, for your compassion and dedication to our patients, coworkers, and ministry.”
