Traci Vanecko Honored as Infirmary Service Hero
Traci Vanecko, a surgical scrub tech at the Infirmary, was recognized as a Service Hero for the displaying the value of EXCELLENCE.
Traci was nominated by a coworker for her commitment to her team and ensuring they have the best processes in place.
“When we needed someone with OR background to oversee, reconcile and enter surgical charges, Traci accepted the challenge. She has done (and continues to do) a phenomenal job. She has uncovered so many charges that had previously been missed and put processes in place to make sure we don’t miss charges in the future.
“When she first took over the job, many charges had to be manually entered in STAR. Traci has worked with IT and National to ensure that all possible charges crossover automatically into STAR without manual manipulation. She welcomes the outside audits that are frequently done and has been recognized by the auditor because of the outstanding audit results since she took over.“
The nomination also praised Traci’s willingness to take on new responsibilities to better serve her team.
“She always accepts additional tasks as needed, such as serving as the Google Suite Super User for Periop, agreeing to share the timekeeping tasks when the nurse manager resigned, developing a template for Periop to use when we started doing the Pain Injections, agreeing to scan all Periop temp logs, maintaining crash cart logs and transferring them into our shared drive so all the records are safe and easy to access and agreeing to be the super user to train new hires on setting up direct deposit, medical/dental, etc.
“Traci is an outstanding, self motivated, reliable employee, and we are so blessed to have her on our team in Periop. I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of the Service Hero Award for Excellence.”
