Zac Casteel Recognized as Infirmary Service Hero

Zac Casteel, RN, who works in the Emergency Department at the Infirmary, was recognized as a Service Hero for displaying the value of COMPASSION.

Zac was nominated by a coworker after he helped a woman who was traveling across the country in an RV with her elderly mother. The elderly woman was going home to be put in hospice care.

Zac helped get her mother situated in the RV after discharge, and because her daughter’s phone wouldn’t work for her to use GPS, he printed off directions she could follow.

After his shift, Zac volunteered to get her to I-40 and stopped along the way to help her secure the mother’s oxygen tank better. He went above and beyond to encourage, support and assist this patient and her family member during a time of need.
