A Healthy Heart Means a Healthy You

February is Heart Month and a great time to focus on easy ways to improve your heart health. Small changes to what you eat and your activity level can make a big difference. Learn three things you can do to help your heart.
When your heart is healthy, you feel healthy—letting you be your best at work and at home. Improving your heart health is easier than you think with these three simple steps:
- Know your blood pressure. Your blood pressure is a one measure of your heart health. That’s why it’s important to know your blood pressure numbers and check them regularly.
- Stay active. Your heart needs exercise, such as a brisk walk, a bike ride or taking the stairs. If you’re new to exercise, just 5-10 minutes a day makes a difference. If you’re already exercising, try adding a few more minutes to your daily routine.
Don’t Forget: Our Wellness Program can help you track your activity, find Challenges that can keep you motivated, even provide Wellness Dollars for completed activities. Or include a vegetable in your dinner menu. Try removing the salt shaker from your dinner table (and to buy lower-salt versions of foods).
