Alisha Waters Named Conway County ER Nurse of the Year!
Congratulations Alisha Waters, RN, for being named Conway County ER Nurse of the Year!
She was recognized for the award at the Conway County Emergency Services Banquet on Monday, September 11, 2023.
Alisha has been a nurse with CHI St. Vincent Morrilton for two years. She said she became a nurse because she’s always been passionate about helping others.
However, it was when she was in high school and her dad was severely injured in an accident, that truly inspired her to follow this career path.
“Going through that experience with him and seeing the interactions and skills of the nurses that saved his life made me realize the profound impact nurses have on not only their patients, but their families,” said Alisha.
She wanted to become a nurse to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives during their challenging times.
“The quote, ‘they may not remember your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel,’ drives me to try to positively impact every patient I come in contact with,” said Alisha.
She said being recognized by her peers for ER Nurse of the Year in Conway County is such an honor.
“I am humbled and greatly appreciate being nominated. I would not be able to receive this award if not for my amazing team of nurses that I get to work beside everyday! I feel God put me right where I’m supposed to be, and I pray he continues to bless me to do His work,” said Alisha.
Her coworkers and leaders have nothing, but wonderful things to say about Alisha and her work as a nurse.
“Alisha is a wonderful leader as our trauma coordinator and nurse supervisor, she goes above and beyond for her team and her patients. She is a joy to work with and beside, she truly does make a difference in the patients that she encounters,” Courtney Linkous, RN, Nurse Manager, said.
“Alisha’s focus on patient care and teamwork has been a wonderful asset for our team,” said Bubba Arnold, President of CHI St. Vincent Morrilton.
“Alisha is a huge asset to our team. I truly don’t know what we’d do without her,” said Angie Longing, MHSM, BSN, RN NE-BC, Chief Nurse Executive/SVP, said.
