Hot Springs PT Named Service Hero for Weekend Care
Congratulations to Barbara McKisick, PT, at Hot Springs on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Barbara was nominated by the family of a patient for going above and beyond during a weekend call shift. Here’s what the patient’s family had to say.
“My sweet momma was so sick. She had a fall which resulted in being at (Hot Springs). PT (Barbara) came in on a Sunday to go ahead and get her up to help her start rehab. She was kind and caring with mom moving very slowly because she was unable to stand or hardly move. After transferring to the bedside commode my mom became nauseous and began vomiting and was incontinent. This person assisted my mom to the bed and called the RN, obtained the supplies and started cleaning my mom up as well as the floor. I told her I could get someone else to help but she insisted on taking care of my mom and all of the mess. She also made sure my mom was able to get nausea medication from the nurse. She went above and beyond to make sure my mother was cared for throughout the whole event. Thank you, Barbara!”
Barbara embodies the idea that when one of our guests has a problem, that is now your problem until it is resolved. Thank you so much, Barbara, for going the extra mile for our patients!
Don’t forget, anybody can nominate a team member for a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero award. If you know of a coworker who has impressed with their work, why not nominate them? Just click this link and fill out the form to let us know what makes them so special.
