Infirmary, North Coworkers Train with SNAP

Recently, more than 40 coworkers from CHI St. Vincent Infirmary and North did SNAP training with the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.

SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program that provides food assistance to eligible households to cover a portion of a household’s food budget.

This was an effort between CHI St. Vincent Mission/Outreach and Case Management leadership to provide better education around SNAP benefits for our patients in need. This can deepen our commitment to understanding food insecurity and respond with competence and care, therefore, it will assist some of our most vulnerable patients and community members.

“Thank you for allowing the AR Hunger Relief Alliance an opportunity to teach staff more about the SNAP program. Your knowledge on this subject will help so many families facing food insecurity,” Valentina Simon, AR Hunger Relief Alliance SNAP Outreach Specialist, said.
