Morrilton Installs 3D Mammography

CHI St. Vincent Morrilton has installed new technology to help detect breast cancer at an earlier stage!

The new GE Senographe Pristina 2D/DBT (3D) mammography unit was installed in October. After physicists testing and approval, Morrilton was able to do their first set of studies on November 14th, 2023.

“This technology allows us to bring the latest technology for screening and diagnostic mammograms to our community. It allows for a clearer view of dense breast, therefore allowing the reading radiologist to diagnose earlier detection of breast cancer. The earlier the detection of breast cancer, allows for a greater cure rate for the patient,” said Johnny Campbell, Radiology Supervisor.
